AstraZeneca’s announcement, shocking the world, has drawn the withdrawal of its COVID-19 vaccine from all countries. Furthermore, the European Commission confirmed that the vaccine, developed in collaboration with the University of Oxford, is no longer authorized for use. These decisions have fueled concerns about the safety of the AstraZeneca vaccine, which has often been questioned due to serious side effects.
At least officially, the vaccine withdrawal is attributed to purely economic reasons. The company explained that the reason for the withdrawal is that the vaccine is no longer competitive on the market because it is outdated. However, this explanation doesn’t entirely convince critics, especially in light of recent legal proceedings involving AstraZeneca.
