Grape leaves are a very important part of the diet as well as traditional medicine, especially in countries such as Greece, Albania, France and Italy.

The people there know well how beneficial these leaves are and that they can be used before the last fruits are harvested, and even long after.

Miška told us about these effects.

The grape leaf is a miracle of nature

They contain a large amount of vitamins   (vitamins A, C, B) and valuable minerals, especially potassium, fiber, folic acid and numerous antioxidants.

They have anti-cancer effects  , mainly due to a special combination of nutrients, vitamins and antioxidants.

They strengthen immunity and protect   against viral and bacterial infections  .

They stimulate   blood circulation, lower blood pressure and protect blood vessels from hardening  .

The valuable   resveratrol is found not only in fruits but also in leaves  . It is especially appreciated by women, as it slows down the aging process.

They cleanse the body of waste products   – they have a strong diuretic effect and also have a mild laxative effect. They help cleanse the kidneys, intestines and bladder.
They heal blood vessels and are a balm for sore legs:

Grape leaves are used to treat varicose veins   – a compress made from grape leaves is an excellent help for tired and sore legs.

It has long been used as a natural remedy  for  constipation   and digestive complaints.

Grape leaves also cleanse the kidneys, bladder, and urinary tract.

Excellent ingredients   for dishes   – the young ones can be eaten raw in the fall.

They taste similar to spinach. The older leaves are used similarly to cabbage – they can be wrapped in meat, rice, or used instead of wheat pancakes.

They flavor stews and add variety to canapes or salad bowls.
