1. Towels require a different wash cycle
Towels are thick and highly absorbent, which means they require longer washes at higher temperatures to be completely clean. Most items, especially delicate ones, require a gentler wash cycle. Washing them together often results in under-washed towels or over-washed clothes, neither of which is ideal.
2. Lint transfer is a real problem

Towels shed a lot of lint, especially new ones. When washed with dark or synthetic fabrics, these lint particles can stick together and create a messy, unpleasant mess. It’s a recipe for frustration, especially if you have to rewet everything.
3. Clothes can get ruined
Zippers, buttons, and embellishments on clothes can snag or cause towels to wear out over time. On the other hand, the heavy texture of towels can cause pilling or stretch lighter fabrics. It’s a real immersion blender.
